Your First Visit

New Patient Experience at Advanced Health Chiropractic

Patient Forms

Upon entering the office, you will be greeted and asked to fill out patient forms. Our patient forms are paperwork that help us to get a better idea of your health history and a bit more information about your condition. All new patients are requested to complete the patient forms before examination. Our receptionist will greet you like you are family and help you to get the forms completed as thoroughly as possible.

Consultation

Once your paperwork is filled out, you will have a consulation with Dr. Lisa or Dr. Jamie Bell so they can get a personal sense of what troubles you are having, and what goals you are trying to reach. This information helps us put together a plan tailored for your condition, and help us to set expecations with you for your care.

Examination

We will never perform examinations or tests without your consent. Typically following the consultation, you will undergo an examination with your doctor, testing flexibility and reflexes. There will also be standard tests for orthopedic, postrucal, neurological, and other physical tests.

X-Ray Studies

X-Rays may be necessary to diagnose a condition or to get a better view of what is happening with your body. These will help us determine the most effective treatment strategy for you. Many people are very surprised at what they see with their x-rays and the story they tell about your posture, genetics and more. Advanced Health Chiropractic will never take x-rays without your consent.

Report of Findings

Once you have completed all of your examinations, your doctor will report all of their findings in a report. You will also have some time to talk with the doctor and ask any questions you may have. Common questions for the doctors include:

  • How can you help me?
  • How often do I need to come in?
  • What will my treatment cost?

After talking about your goals, health history, and examining your spine and x-rays, your doctor will be able to discuss recommendations with you for your continuing treatment plan. If your condition requires care with additional or third party providers, those situations will be discussed to help give you the best treatment available.

Treatment

At the end of your first appointment, you will be able to choose to experience your first treatment. Treatments typically include spinal adjustments, physical therapy, and/or soft tissue massage. Our treatment programs are all interactive, so you are free to express any concerns you may have at any time.

Wellness Program

Before leaving your first visit, the doctor will suggest a health and wellness program to follow between treatments and outside of your typical treatment schedule. If you were experiencing pain prior to your first visit, this may include heat or ice application instructions, activities to avoid, and at home exercises or stretches. If you would like, our wellness team can also work with you to create healthy routines and habits for your specific lifestyle. Every person is different, meaning a treatment program that works for you may not be the optimal program for someone else. The purpose of your specific wellness program will be to achieve good spinal alignment, healthy diet, exercise, and healthy mental state.
