Most often, chiropractors find the reduction or elimination of symptoms like pain as the easiest part of a persons wellness and chiropractic care. If the pain treatment is the only part of a persons wellness plan, the chances for the condition to worsen or come back later are much greater. In order to prevent these symptoms from manifesting down the road, it is important to continue receiving chiropractic care, even when the symptoms have been reduced or eliminated.
During our corrective care phase of your treatment, adjustments will not be necessary as often as they were during the relief care phase. Depending on your specific circumstances, you may be given the option to stretch and exercise at home or at the care facility to help speed your healing process along.
It is common for mild flare ups of symptoms to occur during your corrective care phase. This is normal, and it is important for you not to become discouraged. Dending on the severity of your condition, injury or symptoms, the corrective care phase could last anywhere from a few months to a few years.
